Who we are

T.I.A.G. is a voluntary group set up by a group of Irish Thatch Owners in 2022 to campaign for thatch insurance to be made more available and affordable.

We are committed to finding a solution to this issue as lack of insurance leads to a reduced investment in our built heritage and will result in abandonment and dereliction.

Our thatched vernacular architecture is a key ingredient of the the image of Ireland. An image that as a holiday destination returns millions in tourist revenues to the economy and the exchequer.
